Step To The Edge
. . .
What are you afraid of doing today?
Where is the point in which your ability or potential bumps up against intimidation or even just plain laziness?
That place is your growth edge.
And it’s exactly where you need to be.
Today.
Not tomorrow.
Tomorrow has its own edge, but it will reveal itself in its time.
For now, you are tasked with finding the edge today.
It could be making a scary phone call, lifting a heavier weight, running an extra mile, taking an hour or two or three to rest when you are stuck in a loop of frantic pushing, or it could mean swallowing your pride to say, “I’m sorry.”
No one knows where your edge is but you.
It’s yours to identify.
It’s a calling.
Where are you being called to go next?
And can you find the courage to go there?
Will you step to the edge to keep growing?
Or will you hang back where it’s safe and risk stagnation?
The choice is yours.
And the great thing about that is each new day you get another chance to choose again.
Step to the edge.
It’s where all the good stuff happens.
*This was the script for a mini-vlog I posted last night on Instagram for Day 10 of a personal challenge I’m calling 28 Days of Grace. I started it to generate some creative and physical momentum as I regain my ability to walk and drive after being laid up for 3 months with a broken foot and ankle. Check it out if you are so inclined!

Stepping to the edge today means simply making an effort to pause and have a cup of tea. Stopping to consider where I'm headed and what's needed. Listening. Focus pocus.
